Lessons We Learn From The Worship of Prophet Dawood (pbuh)

Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) said: "When Dawood stood in Arafa, he saw vast numbers of people and so he climbed up the mountain and started praying. When he finished his rituals, Jibraeel came to him and said to him: "O Dawood, your lord asks you why you climbed the mountain. Did you think that he would miss a sound and doesn’t listen to it?" Then Jibraeel took him to the sea of Jeddah and took him deep in the sea in the distance of forty days travel where he opened a rock and showed him a worm. Jibraeel then said: "O Dawood. Your Lord says to you: "I hear the voice of who is in this rock in the bottom of the sea. You though that I would miss a voice and don’t hear it?"

Also Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) said: " Dawood once said to himself: "I will worship this day and recite in a way that I hadn’t don’t before." He went to his sanctuary and did that. When he finished he saw a frog in his sanctuary that said to him: "Did you live what you did today of worship and reciting." He said: "yes." It said: "Then don’t like it. I exalt Allah every night one thousand exaltation, with each exaltation I praise Him three thousand times. When I'm under water and I hear the bird and I think that he is hungry. Thus I ascend to float on water so that he eats me. I also have no sin ever.""
