The Good Wife and The Bad Wife

Ibn Abbas said: "Ibrahim brought Ismaeel and Hajar to Makka. After that, Al-Jarhamiyoun came to Makka. Ismaeel married a woman from them and then his mother Hajar died. Ibrahim told Sarah that he wants to visit Hajar. She told him to go but he has to sleep in Hajar's house.

Ibrahim reached Makka and knew that Hajar died. He went to Ismaeel's house and found his wife there. He said to her: "Where is your husband?" She said: "He is not here. He went hunting." Ismaeel used to hunt outside the boundaries of the sanctuary.

Ibrahim said: "Can you host me for the night?" She said: "I have nothing and no one is with me." Ibrahim said: "When you husband comes, greet him on my behalf and tell him to change the sill of his door." Ibrahim left and Ismaeel came. He smelled the scent of his father in the house and so he asked his wife: "Did anyone come?" She said: "An old man" She described him in a way undervaluing him. He said: "What did he tell you?" She said: "He told me: " When you husband comes, greet him on my behalf and tell him to change the sill of his door." Thus Ismaeel divorced his wife and married another one because she had bad manners.

Ibrahim decided to visit Ismaeel for another time after a while. When he reached his house he said to his wife: "Where is your husband?" She said: "He went hunting. He will come back. Come in May Allah bestow mercy upon you." He said: "Can you host me for the night?" She said: "Yes." Then she brought him meat and yogurt. He prayed for blessings for her. Then she said to him: "come down so that I wash your head." He stayed standing as she was washing his head and feet. After she was done he greeted her and said to her: "When your husband comes, greet him on my behalf and tell say to him: "Your sill is now straight. Be good to it."" When Ismaeel came, he smelled the scent of his father and so he said to his wife: "Did anyone come today?" She said: "Yes. An old man with the most beautiful face and nicest smell. He told me to tell you "." I washed his feet. This is where I washed them. Ismaeel said: "This is Ibrahim my father (pbuh)."
