Cursing

* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Saleem bin Qays reported from Ameer Elmo’mineen (Pbuh) that he said: “ The Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) said: “Allah had forbidden heaven from every obscene man with ribald speech, not shy and not caring what he said and what is said to him. If you search him you find nothing but mere speech and that he is a partner of Satan.” One said: “How can one be a partner of Satan?” The Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) said: “Don’t you read this saying of Allah {Share their money and children with them.}”“ [1]

 

* Al-Hor Al-Amili states in Wasa’el Al-Shia Book: Abou Obeida Al-Hathaa’ reported from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: “Shyness is from faith and faith is in heaven. Ribaldry is from cruelty and cruelty is in hell.” [2]

 

* Al-Sheikh Al-Amili stated in Al-Amali Book: Ibn Omar reported from the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) that he said: “Allah loves the shy and chaste one and hate the ribald beggar.” [3]

 

* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Ibn Abou Jamila reported from Imam Abou Jaa’far (Pbuh) that he said: “Allah hates the obscene man.” [4]

 

* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Omar bin Yazeed reported from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: “ There was a man from the children of Israeel who prayed for Allah to grant him a child for three years. Yet Allah didn’t respond to him. So He said: “O Lord, Am I far from you and thus you aren’t hearing me. Or I’m close to you and thus you don’t want to respond to me?” Then he saw in his a dream one who said to him: “You have been praying and supplicating but with a ribald tongue and a tyrant heart that isn’t pious and a dishonest intention. So quit ribaldry and make your heart pious and your intentions good.” This man did what he was ordered then supplicated and begot a child.” [5]

 

* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Soma’a reported from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said that the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) said: “the evilest of servants is whom you hate sitting with him because he is obscene.” [6]

 

* Al-Hor Al-Amili states in Wasa’el Al-Shia Book: Soma’a reported from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said to him: “O Soma’a what just happened between you and who takes care of your camels? Never be obscene never curse or say ribald words.” He said: “I swear I only did that because he was unjust to me.” The Imam (Pbuh) said: “Even if he was unjust to you, these aren’t my acts and I don’t order my followers to do it. Ask Allah for forgiveness and don’t do it again.” He said: “I ask Allah forgiveness and I shall never do it again.” [7]

 

* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Is’haq bin Ammar reported from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said that the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) said: “He who discloses an obscene act is as if he started it. He who shames a believer about a matter that he did, doesn’t die until he does it.” [8]

 

* Al-Sheikh Al-Sadouq states in Ilal Al-Sharai Book: Jaber reported from Zainab the daughter of Ali (Pbut) from Fatima (Pbuh) that he said: “Avoiding falsely accusing married women with fornication is a shield from damnation.” [9]

 

* Al-Sheikh Al-Sadouq states in Ilal Al-Sharai Book: Mohammad bin Sanan reported from Imam Abou Al-Hassan Ali Bin Moussa Al-Rida (Pbuh) that he wrote answering his questions: “Allah had forbidden falsely accusing married women with fornication because it corrupts lineages, exiles children, falsifies heritages, abandoning raising children and erasing knowledge. Also because it causes many bad matters that corrupt the creatures.” [10]

 

* Al-Hor Al-Amili states in Wasa’el Al-Shia Book: Mohammad bin Al-Halabi reported Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: “Allah doesn’t look at three on Resurrection Day: A Dyoth Man, Obscene man, and the one who begs people and yet he is in no need.” [11]

 

* Al-Hor Al-Amili states in Wasa’el Al-Shia Book: Wahab bin Wahab reported from Imam Jaa’far Bin Mohammad from his father (Pbut) that Ameer Elmo’mineen (Pbuh) didn’t punish for general cursing unless it was direct as: O fornicator or O son of fornicating woman or you are not the son of your father. [12]

 

* Al-Humairi Al-Qummi states in Qurb Al-Isnad Book: Abou Al-Boukhtori reported from Imam Jaa’far that he said: “Once a man said to another: “O intoxicant drinker, O pig eater”. My father (Pbuh) said: “He has no punishment but he must be thumped once.” [13]

 

* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Soma’a said: “In the time of Ameer Elmo’mineen, a man said to another that he saw in his dreams that he is sleeping with his mother.” So this man went and complained for Ameer Elmo’mineen (Pbuh) and said: “This man accused my mother.” The Imam (Pbuh) said: “What did he say?” He said: “He said that he dreamt that he is sleeping with my mother.” The Imam (Pbuh) said: “According to justice, I can make him stand in the sun and thump his shadow. Dreams are like shadow but we will beat him so that he doesn’t harm Muslims anymore.” Another narration says: “He beat him in a very painful way.” [14]

 

* Ali bin Babawaih states in Fokoh Al-Rida (Pbuh) Book: He who mentions Master Mohammad (Pbuhp) or one of his household with bad words or words that don’t fit with their status or slandered them must be killed. [15]

 

* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Jameel bin Salih reported from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: “Be ware from the consequences of falls”[16]

 

* Al-Mirza Al-Nouri states in Moustadrak Al-Wasa’el Book: Al-Sheikh Al-Moufeed states in Al-Ikhtisas Book reporting from Imam Sadiq (Pbuh) that he said: “He who finds out about a sin of a believer, doesn’t conceal it, discloses it and doesn’t ask Allah for forgiveness for him is as if he did it. Also he carries the consequences of disclosing it whereas the one who did it is forgiven as his punishment is the disclosure in Donia and it will be concealed in the hereafter. Then he will find that Allah is more generous than punishing him another time in the hereafter.” [17]
