15ـ الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): لا خَيرَ في نُسُكٍ لا وَرَعَ فيهِ . |
| 15– Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘There is no good in devotion that is devoid of piety.’[al-Mahasin, v. 1, p. 65, no. 9] |

16ـ الإمامُ زينُ العابدينَ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): الوَرَعُ نِظامُ العِبادَةِ، فإذا انقَطَعَ ذَهَبَتِ الدِّيانَةُ ؛ كما إذا انقَطَعَ السِّلكُ أتبَعَهُ النِّظامُ . |
| 16– Imam Zayn al-Abidin (AS) said, ‘Piety is the system of worship, and if it is cut, religion goes just like when a wire is cut the system follows it!’[Tanbih al-Khawatir, v. 2, p. 88] |

17ـ الإمامُ الصّادقُ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): لا يَنفَعُ اجتِهادٌ لا وَرَعَ فيهِ . |
| 17– Imam al-Sadiq (AS) said, ‘Diligence is of no use without piety.’[al-Kafi, v. 2, p. 77, no. 4] |

18ـ الإمامُ الصّادقُ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) ـ في وصيَّتِهِ لِعَمرِو بنِ سعيدٍ ـ: اُوصيكَ بتَقوَى اللّهِ والوَرَعِ والاجتِهادِ، واعلَم أ نّهُ لا يَنفَعُ اجتِهادٌ لا وَرَعَ فيهِ. |
| 18– Imam al-Sadiq (AS), in his will to `Aamr b. Sa`aid, said, ‘I advise you to be wary of your duty to Allah, to have piety and diligence, and know that diligence that is devoid of piety is of no benefit.’[Bihar al-Anwar, v. 70, p. 296, no. 1] |
