Devils

 * Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Zurara from Imam Abou Jaa’far (Pbuh) that he said: “On the day of Bader Battle, Iblees was picturing Muslims as few in the eyes of the infidels and picturing the infidels as plenty in the eyes of Muslims. So Jibraeel unsheathed his sword and headed towards him. He ran away saying: “My time is delayed” till he fell in the sea.” Zurara said: “His time is delayed so what was he fearing from?” Imam (Pbuh): “Cutting off of some his limbs.” [1]

* Mohammad bin Jareer Al-Tabari states in Dala’il Al-Imama Book: Reported from Al-Moufaddal bin Amr that he asked Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh): “May I be sacrificed for your sake, what are the powers of Iblees?” Imam (Pbuh) said: “The lures that he instills in the hearts of people.” He said: “What are the powers of the angel of death?” Imam (Pbuh) said: “He takes the souls of people.” He: “Do they have power over everyone in the east and west?” Imam (Pbuh): “Yes.” He: “What powers do you have, may I be sacrificed for your sake?” Imam (Pbuh): “I know everything that is in the east and west, skies and earths, lands and seas and their count. Neither Iblees nor the angel of death has these.” [2]

* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Ismaeel bin Abi Ziad from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) from his forefathers (Pbut) from the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) that he said once to his companions: “Shall I tell you a matter that keeps the demons away from you as same as east is far from west?” they said: “yes.” He (Pbuhp) said: “fasting darkens his face and charity breaks his back. Loving in the cause of Allah, being consistent on doing good and asking forgiveness paralyzes him.” [3]

* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Aban bin Taghlob from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: “Every believer’s heart has two ears inside of him: An ear that Iblees whispers in it and an ear that angels whisper in it. Allah aids the believers with the angels as Allah said {He aided them with a Soul of His}”[4]

* Al-Sheikh Al-Toussi states in Al-Tibyan Book: Reported from Imam Abou Jaa’far (Pbuh) that he explained {they inspire each other} saying: “demons teach each other how they lure and deceive creatures.” [5]

* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Ghayath bin Ibrahim from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: “three angels come to every three believers that gather in prayer. If they prayed for good, the angels pray for them. If they prayed for seeking refuge from any evil, the angels ask Allah to protect them from this evil. If they asked for a need, the angels intercede before Allah and ask him to fulfill their needs. Thirty demons come to every three deniers that gather. When they speak, the demons speak like them. When they laugh, the demons laugh with them. When they curse at a saint of Allah, the demons curse with them. So if any believer was among them should leave them when they do that. In order not to be a partner of Satan. The rage of Allah can’t be stopped by anything. If he couldn’t leave, he should reject their sayings in his heart and leaven when he can.” [6]

* Al-Hor Al-Amili states in Wasa’il Al-Shia Book: Reported from Abou Hamza Al-Thamali from Imam Abou Jaa’far (Pbuh) that he said: “ Anger is an ember that Satan ignites in the heart of the children of Adam. When one of you becomes angry, his eyes become red and his veins bulge. Then Satan enters into him. If one of you doesn’t want that, he should sit on ground when angry so that Iblees doesn’t affect him.” [7]

* Tafseer Al-Imam Al-Askari (Pbuh): He (Pbuh) said that the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) said: “O nation of Mohammad, remember Mohammad and AL Mohammad in  your calamities and hard times so that Allah aids by them your angels against the demons that are attacking you. Everyone of you has an angel on his right writing his righteous deeds and an angel on his left writing his sins. Along with him there are two  demons sent by Iblees to lure him. When they lure him and then he remembers Allah and says: “There is neither way nor power but with Allah the Highest and Greatest. May Allah’s prayers be upon Mohammad and AL Mohammad, the two demons become locked. Then they go to Iblees and complain to him and say: “He wearied us. Aid us with the giants of demons.” So he aids them with one thousand giant demons. Then all of them come and attack him. Yet when he remembers Allah and sends his prayers upon Mohammad and AL Mohammad, they can’t reach him. So they go and tell Iblees. “You are the only one who can do this. Go to him with your soldiers to defeat him and lure him.” So Iblees heads towards him with his soldiers. Then Allah tells the angels: “ Iblees is heading towards my servant. Go and fight him. Then for every demon one hundred thousand angels come on horses of fire carrying swords, spears, bows, arrows and knifes of fire. They bring them out, fight them, kill them and captivate Iblees and raise their weapons against him. Then he says: “O Lord, don’t forget your promise. I’m delayed till the appointed time.” Then Allah says to the angels: “I promised him that I will not kill him. Yet I didn’t promise him that I will not torture him and make him feel pain. So unleash your strikes against him for I will not allow him to die. So they wound him in every part of his body then they leave him. He stays in grief over himself and his killed children and no wound of his heals until he hears the voices of the polytheists declaring their infidelity. If the believer remains obeying Allah, remembering him and sending his prayers upon Mohammad and AL Mohammad, the wounds of Iblees doesn’t heal. If the believer stops that and gets occupied with disobeying Allah and sinning, the wounds of Iblees heal then he grows stronger and more powerful than the servant, restrains him and climbs on his back. Then he goes down and another demon from his demons mount the servant’s back and says to his friends: “Don’t you remember what happened to us of humility because of this servant.”

Then the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) said: “If you want to keep the grief of Iblees and keep his wounds not healed and keep his pain, you have to keep on obeying Allah, remembering him and sending your prayers upon Mohammad and AL Mohammad. If you stop doing that you end up captives in his hands and one of his giant demons mount your backs.”

* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Abi Al-Maghra that heard Imam Abou Al-Hassan (Pbuh) say: “The matter that frustrates Iblees the most is the visit of believers to each other. When believer meet and remember Allah and our virtues, all the flesh falls from the face of Iblees and his souls starts screaming because of the pain he feels. So the angels of the skies and heavens hear him and start cursing him till every close angel curses him. Thus he falls defeated and grieving.” [8]

* Mohammad bin Jareer Al-Tabari states in Dala’el Al-Imama Book: Reported from Is’haq bin Ammar that he asked Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) about Iblees in this verse {delay my punishment till when they are resurrected# (Allah) said: “Your punishment shall be delayed# till the day of the appointed time} what this day is. Imam said: “O Wahab, do you think that it is the day when people are resurrected? Indeed No. Allah delayed him till the day when our Qa’im is sent. When Allah sends our Qa’im, he will grab his in his neck and breaks it. This is day of the appointed time.” [9]

* Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Qummi states in His Tafseer Book: Reported from Ibn Sanan from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: “When Allah ordered his prophet to assign Ameer Elmo’mineen as his custodian as in Allah’s saying {O Messenger, Proclaim what had been sent to you from your Lord} about Ali in Ghadeer Khum. So he (Pbuhp) said: “Who I’m his master, Ali is his master” Thus demons went to Iblees and started putting sand on their heads. Iblees said: “What is wrong?” They said: “This man had tied a nod that no one can untie till Resurrection Day.” He said to them: “ Indeed No. The ones around him had promised me a plot and they will break their promise.” Then Allah descended this verse to his Messenger {the thoughts of Iblees were right about them}.”[10]

* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Jaber from Imam Abou Jaa’far Al-Baqir (Pbuh) that he said: “Iblees May he be damned by Allah, deploys the soldiers of the night on sunset and sunrise. So remember Allah a lot in these two times and seek refuge with Allah from the evilness of Iblees and his soldiers. Also ask Allah to refuge your children in these times so they are the times of unawareness.” [11]
