عِيادَةُ المَريضِ Visiting the Sick

14. رسولُ اللهِ‏ِ (صَلَّيَ اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَ آلِهِ): عائدُ المَريضِ يَخوضُ في الرَّحمَةِ.

14– The Prophet (SAWA) said, ‘The one who visits the sick dives into [divine] mercy.’[Kanz al-`Ummal, no. 25141]

 

15. رسولُ اللهِ‏ِ (صَلَّيَ اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَ آلِهِ): إنَّ اللّه‏ عَزَّوجلَّ يقولُ يَومَ القِيامَةِ: يابنَ آدمَ، مَرِضتُ فلَم تَعُدْنيقالَ: ياربِّ، كيفَ أعودُكَ وأنتَ رَبُّ العالَمينَ ؟! قالَ: أما عَلِمتَ أنّ عَبديَ فُلاناً مَرِضَ فلَم تَعُدْهُ ؟ ! أما عَلِمتَ أنّكَ لَو عُدتَهُ لَوَجَدتَني عِندَهُ؟!

15– The Prophet (SAWA) said, ‘Allah Almighty will say on the Day of Resurrection , ‘O son of Adam, I became sick and you did not visit Me!’ and he will ask, ‘O Lord, how can I visit You when You are the Lord of the worlds?’ He Almighty will say, ‘Did you not know that My servant so and so became sick and you did not visit him?! Did you not know that if you had visited him you would have found Me there with him?!’[al-Targhib wa al-Tarhib, v. 4, p. 317, no. 3]

 

16. الإمامُ الصّادقُ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): مَن عادَ مَريضاً شَيَّعَهُ سَبعونَ ألفَ ملَكٍ يَستَغفِرونَ لَهُ حتّى يَرجِعَ إلى مَنزلِهِ.

16– Imam al-Sadiq (AS) said, ‘Whoever visits a sick person, seventy thousand angels will escort him repenting for him until he returns to his house.’[al-Kafi, v. 3, p. 120, no. 2]
