Yousuf (pbuh) put his cheek on the ground and said: "If my sins had deformed by face as seen by you, I seek you by means of the faces of my righteous fathers: Ibrahim, Ismaeel, Is-haq, and Yaqoub." Thus Allah saved him from his burdens.
Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) was asked: "Can we use this supplication?" He (Pbuh) said: "Use one that is similar to it. Say: " If my sins had deformed by face as seen by you, I seek you by means of your prophet the prophet of mercy Mohammad (Pbuhp), Ali, Fatima, Al-Hassan, Al-Hussein and the Imams (Pbut). Save us and relieve us from our burdens O Allah.""
Yaqoub (pbuh) used to say: "O He whom no one knows how he is, where he is and what his power is. O who blocked air with the sky, fixed lands above water, and chose the greatest names for himself, grant me a relief from You and a close salvation."
In the morning, they brought his the shirt of Yousuf. It was thrown on his face and thus he gained his sight back.
