المَرَضُ Sickness

1. رسولُ اللهِ‏ِ (صَلَّيَ اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَ آلِهِ): المَريضُ تَحاتُّ خَطاياهُ كَما يَتَحاتُّ وَرَقُ الشَّجَرِ.

1– The Prophet (SAWA) said, ‘The wrongdoings of a sick person shed away from him like the shedding of leaves from a tree.’[al-Targhib wa al-Tarhib, v. 4, p. 293, no. 56]

 

2. الإمام عليٌّ عليه‏السلام : المَرَضُ أحَدُ الحَبسَينِ

2– Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘Sickness is one of the two confinements.’[Ghurar al-Hikam, no. 1636]

 

3. الإمامُ الباقرُ أو الإمامُ الصّادقُ (عَلَيهمَا الّسَلامُ): سَهَرُ لَيلَةٍ مِن مَرَضٍ أو وَجَعٍ أفضَلُ وأعظَمُ أجراً مِن عِبادَةِ سَنَةٍ.

3– Imam al-Baqir or Imam al-Sadiq (AS) said, ‘Staying awake from sickness or pain for one night carries a greater reward than the worship of one year.’[al-Kafi, v. 3, p. 114, no. 6]

 

4. الإمامُ الكاظمُ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): إذا مَرِضَ المؤمنُ أوحَى اللّه‏ُ عَزَّوجلَّ إلى صاحِبِ الشِّمالِ: لا تَكتُبْ على عَبدي مادامَ في حَبسي ووَثاقي ذَنبا. ويُوحي إلى صاحِبِ اليَمينِ أنِ اكتُبْ لِعَبدي ما كُنتَ تَكتُبُهُ في صِحَّتِهِ مِن الحَسَناتِ.

4– Imam al-Kazim (AS) said, ‘When a believer becomes sick, Allah reveals unto the angel on his left [shoulder], ‘Do not write a sin for my servant as long as he is in My confinement and My grasp, and He reveals unto the angel on his right [shoulder], 'Write for My servant what you were writing for him in merits when he was healthy.’ [al-Kafi, v. 3, p. 114, no. 7]
