كَفى بالسَّلامَةِ داءً Health Suffices as an Ailment

10. داوودُ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) ـ كانَ يقولُ ـ: اللّهُمّ لا مَرَضٌ يُضنِيني، ولا صِحَّةٌ تُنسِيني، ولكنْ بينَ ذلكَ.

10– Prophet David (AS), would say, ‘O Allah, [do not give me] sickness that weakens me nor health that makes me forget [You], rather a state in between them both.’[Ghurar al-Hikam, p. 134, no. 334]

 

11. رسولُ اللهِ‏ِ (صَلَّيَ اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَ آلِهِ): كَفى بالسَّلامَةِ داءً.

11– The Prophet (SAWA) said, ‘Health suffices as an ailment.’[Tanbih al-Khawatir, v. 2, p. 7]

 

12. رسولُ اللهِ (صَلَّيَ اللهُ عَلَيهِ وَ آلِهِ): إنّ اللّه‏َ يُبغِضُ العِفرِيَةَ النِّفرِيَةَ الّذي لَم يُرزَأ في جِسمِهِ ولا مالهِ.

12– The Prophet (SAWA) said, ‘Indeed Allah hates hard calamities and tragedies that do not obtain anything from a man’s body or his wealth.’[al-Da`aawat, p. 172, no. 482]

 

13. الإمامُ الباقرُ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): الجَسَدُ إذا لم يَمرَضْ أشِرَ، ولا خَيرَ في جَسَدٍ يَأشَرُ .

13– Imam al-Baqir (AS) said, ‘If a body does not become sick it continues to make merry, and there is no good in a body that [only] makes merry.’[Mishkat al-Anwar, p. 280]
