From Amir Al-Mu'mineen (Pbuh), who narrated from the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp): “Jibra'il came to me with seven words, which are those mentioned by Allah in His saying: 'And when his Lord tested Ibrahim with words, and he fulfilled them.' Jibra'il instructed me to teach them to you. These are seven words from the Torah in Hebrew, and he explained them to Ali ibn Abi Talib (Pbuh): 'O Allah, O Rahman, O Lord, O Possessor of Majesty and Honor, O Light of the heavens and the earth, O Near One, O Responsive One.' These are the seven words. When the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) conveyed this, Abdullah ibn Salam entered while we were discussing this narration. Upon hearing it, Abdullah began to exclaim Allahu Akbar repeatedly. The Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) saw him glorifying Allah and said: 'What is the matter, O Abdullah?'
He replied: 'O Messenger of Allah, by the One who sent you with the truth, these names were revealed by Jibra'il to Ibrahim, who would frequently repeat them. Through them, Allah took Ibrahim as His intimate friend. No servant gathers these names in their heart except that Allah places within them a barrier that prevents Shaytan from approaching or overpowering them until they meet Allah on this state and enter the Abode of Glory. Whoever invokes these names during the last seven nights of Rajab at the time of dawn will be granted Allah’s rewards and His guardianship.' The Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) then said: 'O Abdullah, do you know how Ibrahim acted when Allah revealed these words to him?' Abdullah replied: 'When Jibra'il revealed them, Ibrahim asked him how to invoke them.' Jibra'il replied: 'Fast during the month of Rajab. When you reach the last seven nights, rise on the final night, pray two rak‘ahs with a trembling heart, and then ask Allah for guardianship, assistance, well-being, elevation in this world and the Hereafter, and deliverance from Hellfire.'“
