Patience; Gratitude; Repentance

Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) said: "Allah inspired to Dawood (pbuh): "Go to Khulada bin Aws and deliver to her the glad tidings of heaven. Let her know that she is your consort in heaven." Dawood went and knocked on her door. She came out and said: "Was anything bestowed down about me?" He said: "Yes." She said: "What is it?" He said: "Allah inspired to me to tell you that you will go to heaven  and that you will be my consort in it." She said: "This might be for another woman who has the same name of mine." He said: "No, you are the one." She said: "I don’t want to belie you O prophet of Allah but I know that I don’t have such traits." Dawood said: "Tell me about your conscience and your inner-soul." She said: "I will tell you. I never asked Allah to cure me from any pain or harm that I suffered no matter how severe it was. I only endure it till Allah cures me and grants me wellbeing. I was always used to thank Allah for that." Dawood said: "This is how you reached your rank." This is religion of Allah that he accepted for  the righteous ones." (1)

Once Dawood left alone in the deserts. Allah inspired to him: "O Dawood why are you alone?" He said: "O Allah, my longing for you is burning me and your creatures are a veil between me and you." Allah then inspired to him: "Go back to them. If you bring me back an escaping servant, I will write your name on the board among the Thankful ones."(2)
