The Return

* Al-Hassan bin Suleiman Al-Holli states in Basa'er Al-Darajat: Reported from Faid bin Abi Shayba that he said that he heard Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) recite this verse: { When Allah made the covenant with the prophets; I have given you of the Book and wisdom, and afterward there will come unto you a messenger, confirming what you possess. You shall believe in him and you shall advocate him} and say: "They will believe in the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) and they will advocate Ali Ameer Al-Mo'mineen (Pbuh). Indeed, I swear to Allah! Starting from Adam to those who came after him, all the prophets and messengers who Allah has sent will return by Him to this earthly world to fight between under the lead of Ali Bin Abi Talib Ameer Al-Mo'mineen (Pbuh)." [1]

* Al-Sheikh Al-Toussi states in Al-Ghayba Book: Reported from Abi Sadiq from Imam Abou Jaa'far (Pbuh) that he said: "our state is the last of states. Every household will have a state before we have so don’t say after they see how we will rule: 'if we had dominion we would have ruled like these.' This is what Allah had said: {the Final is for the pious ones}[2]

* Mohammad bin Ibrahim Al-No'mani states in Al-Ghayba Book: Reported from Hisham bin Salim that Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) said: "this matter will not happen until every type of people have their share of dominion over people. So that no one says: 'If we ruled we would have been just.' Then Al-Qa'im rises with Right and Justice." [3]

* Al-Hassan bin Suleiman Al-Holli states in Moukhtasar Basa'er Al-Darajat Book: Reported from Abi Baseer from one of them (Pbut) explaining this saying of Allah {he who is blind in this, shall be blind in the hereafter from more stray from the path}. He (Pbuh) said: "This is in the Return." [4]

* Al-Hassan bin Suleiman Al-Holli states in Moukhtasar Basa'er Al-Darajat Book: Reported from Moufaddal bin Amr that he asked Imam Al-Sadiq (Pbuh) in a long narration: "O Master, then where does Imam Mahdi (Pbuh) walks to?" Imam: "to the city of my grandfather the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp). When he reaches there, a wondrous event will happen with him that will gladden the believers and shame the infidels." He said: " What is it O Master?" Imam: "He goes to the grave of his grandfather (Pbuhp) and says: 'You people, is this the grave of my grandfather the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp)?' people say: 'Yes O Mahdi of AL Mohammad.' He says: 'who is with him in the grave?' people: 'his companions Abou Baker and Omar.' He says even though he is the one who has knowledge of them the most: 'who are Abou Baker and Omar? Why they were chosen from among the entire creatures to be buried with my grandfather the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp)? Maybe other than them are buried here?' people: 'O Mahdi of AL Mohammad, there is no one here but them. They were buried with him because they are his successors and the fathers of his two wives.' Then Imam says to people: 'Bring them out of their graves.' Thus they are brought out still soft and fresh with nothing changed from their looks and their color didn’t fade. Then Imam says: 'Is there anyone who knows them among you?' people: 'we know them by their descriptions. None are next to your grandfather's grave but them.' Imam: 'Is there anyone who has a different opinion or has doubts about this?' people: 'No.' So he postpones bringing them till after three days. The news about this spreads among people. Then Al-Mahdi comes and uncovers the graves and tells the Nuqabaa': 'Search for them and bring them out.' So they start searching and digging with their hands till they reach them. Then they bring them out still soft and fresh and still in the same image. Then Imam uncovers their shroud and orders then to be crucified on a dry dead tree. So he crucifies them on the tree. Thus the tree revives and its leaves grow as it also grows bigger and taller. Thus the doubters who are loyal to them say: 'By Allah, this is the true honor. We won by loving you and being loyal to you.' Thus who have love and loyalty to them in the size of a grain will be told about. Then they come and see them and are tested by them. The speaker of Imam Mahdi (Pbuh) says: 'everyone who loves these two companions of the Messenger of Allah (Pbuh), step aside.' Thus people are divided into two groups. The first group is loyal to them and the other disowns them. Then Imam Mahdi (Pbuh) offers their followers to disown them. So they say: 'O Mahdi of the Household of the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp). We don’t disown them and change what we used to say about them especially after what we've seen. How can we disown them now and we've seen their softness, freshness and the revival of the tree by them. Yet, by Allah we disown you, who believe in you, who don't believe in them, who crucified them, who brought them out and did what he did to them.' Thus Al-Mahdi (Pbuh) orders black wind to blow them and so it makes them as dry fronds. Then he orders them to be descended to him and then revives them by permission of Allah. Then Imam he orders people to gather and then he starts narrating what they did in every second and every corner till he tells them about the murder of Habeel the son of Adam (pbut), collecting the fire to burn Ibrahim (pbuh), throwing Yousuf (pbuh) in the well, locking Yunus (pbuh) in the whale, murder of Yahia (pbuh), crucifying of Issa (pbuh), torturing Jerjes and Daniel (pbuh), hitting Salman Al-Farisi, lighting fire on the door of Ameer Elmo'mineen, Fatima, Hassan and Hussein to burn them, whipping the hand of Fatima the Grandest Saint, kicking her stomach and aborting Mohsin, poisoning Al-Hassan, murdering Al-Hussein, slaughtering his children, cousins and advocators, captivating the descendents of the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp), shedding the blood of AL Mohammad (Pbut), every blood that was shed, every fornication, and every wickedness, obscenity, sin, oppression and injustice since the days of Adam (pbuh) till the days of the rise of our Qa'im (Pbuh). He lists all these to them and accuses them with it. Then they confess and then punished for every injustice that all of the ones present had suffered. Then Imam crucifies them on the tree and orders fire to rise from the ground and burn them with the tree. Then Imam ordered wind to blow and annihilate them." Moufaddal said: "O Master, what is their last torment?" Imam: "Never, they will be brought back and the Grandest Master Mohammad the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) will come along with the Grandest Saint Ameer Elmo'mineen, Fatima, Hassan, Hussein and the Imams (Pbut) and everyone who is at the peak of faith and everyone who is at the peak of infidelity. Then they will be punished for everything they did and they will be killed a thousand kills every day and night then brought back till what Allah wills." [5]

* Al-Sheikh Al-Moufeed states in Al-Irshad book: Reported from Abdellah bin Al-Mogheera from that Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) said: "When Al-Qa'im of AL Mohammad (Pbut) rises he will bring back five hundred men from Quraish Tribe and kill them, then bring back another five hundred and kill them, then another five hundred till he does that six times." He said: "Does it reach this number!" Imam: "Yes, they and their followers."[6]

* Al-Sheikh Al-Sadouq states in Ilal Al-Sharai' Book: Reported from Abdelraheem Al-Qaseer that he said that Imam Abou Jaa'far (Pbuh) told him: "When our Qa'im rises, the red-headed will be brought back to him so that he thumps her and take from her the revenge of Fatima the daughter of Mohammad (Pbut)." He said: "May I be sacrificed for your sake. Why will he thump her?" Imam: "Because falsely accused Oum Ibrahim with adultery." He said: "Why did Allah postpone this till the time of Imam Qa'im?" Imam: "Because Allah sent Mohammad (Pbuhp) as a mercy and sent Al-Qa'im (Pbuh) as indignation." [7]

* Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Qummi states in his Tafseer Book: Reported from Ibn Miskan from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said explaining this saying of Allah { Permission was granted ,to those who were oppressed, to fight. Indeed! Allah is most powerful to give them triumph}: "commons say that this verse talks about the messenger of Allah (Pbuhp), when Quraish sent him away from Makka. Yet this verse is about Al-Qa’im, when he comes out to revenge the blood of Al-Hussein, saying: 'We are those who ask revenge for our blood and we are those who ask for retribution.'"[8]

* Al-Sheikh Al-Sadouq states in Ilal Al-Sharai' Book: Reported from Saleh Al-Harawi that he told Imam Abou Al-Hassan Al-Rida (Pbuh): "O son of the Messenger of Allah, what is your opinion about a narration that is reported from Imam Sadiq (Pbuh) that he said: 'When Imam Al-Qa'im rises, he will kill the descendents of the killers of Al-Hussein (Pbuh) because of what their forefathers had done.'" Imam (Pbuh) said: "It is right." He said: "So what about this saying of Allah: {No one carries the burdens of others} what does it mean?" Imam: "Allah is honest in all his sayings. It is that the descendents of the killers of Al-Hussein (Pbuh) are content with what their forefathers had done and they show pride with it. He who is content with a matter is as if he did this matter. If a man was killed in the far east and a man in the far west was content with it, then the one content is a partner in the kill in the sight of Allah. When Al-Qa'im rises because they were content with what their forefathers had done."[9]

* Jaa'far bin Mohammad bin Qulawai states in Kamil Al-Ziyarat Book: Reported from Mohammad bin Sanan that a man asked Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) about this saying of Allah { And He who was killed oppressively, We have indeed given power to his heir, thus he will not exceed the just limits in killing; surely he is aided.} He (Pbuh) said: "That is Al-Qa'im of AL Mohammad; he will come out and kill those responsible for the blood of Al-Hussein (Pbuh) so, even if he killed all the occupants of the earth, he wouldn't be exceeding the just limits. Thus, His saying:{ he will not exceed the just limits in killing} means that he would never do something extravagant,"

Then Imam Abou Abdellah Al-Sadiq (Pbuh) said: "I swear to Allah that he will kill the descendants of the killers of Al-Hussein (Pbuh) due to their forefathers' actions." [10]

* Al-Hassan bin Suleiman Al-Holli states in Moukhtasar Basa'er Al-Darajat Book: Reported from Abou Hamza Al-Thamaly that Imam Abou Jaa'far (Pbuh) said that Ameer Elmo'mineen (Pbuh) used to say: "He who wants to fight the followers of Al-Dajjal (The Imposter) has to fight who cry over the blood of Othman and who cry over the blood of people of Al-Nahrawan Battle. He who meets Allah believing that Othman was killed oppressively meets Allah being under His Rage and he will meet Al-Dajjal[11]." One asked Ameer Elmo'mineen: "even if he died before this?" Imam: "He will be brought back from his grave to believe in him, even if against his will." [12]

* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Mohammad from his father that he asked Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) about: {Had the story of the Overwhelming (event) reached you?} Imam: "Al-Qa'im overwhelms them with his sword." He said: "{faces that day will be humiliated}?" Imam: "Yielding not being able to refuse." He: "{Laboring}?" Imam: "Working but with other than what Allah descended." He: "{assigning}?" Imam: "assigned other than the guardians." He: "{They will enter the blazing fire}?" Imam: "Enter the fire of war in Donia in the time of Al-Qa'im and the fire of Hell in the Hereafter." [13]

* Al-Sheikh Al-Toussi states in Al-Ghayba Book: Reported from Abou Baseer from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: "Al-Qa'im will destroy the Sacred Mosque till it is back to its original bases and the mosque of the Messenger of Allah till it is back to its original bases and he will return the House back to its original place and build it on its bases. Then he will cut off the hands of the descendents of Shayba Al-Sarraq (The thief) and hang them on Kaa'ba."

* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book:Reported from Abdelmalek bin Ayon that he was with Imam Abou Jaa'far (Pbuh). He left with his hand covering his eyes and crying. Imam asked him: "What is wrong with you?" He said: "I was hoping that I would be in my strength in this matter (Advent)." Imam: "Aren't you pleased that your enemies will kill each other while you are safe in your homes. When this matter comes, each man among you will be given the power of forty men and your hearts will be like steel uprooting mountains. You will be the strength of earth and its treasure." [14]

* Qotob Al-Deen Al-Rawandi states in Al-Khara'ij Wal Jara'ih Book: Reported from Jaber that Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) said: "Allah removed the fear from the hearts of our enemies and planted it in our followers' hearts. When our matter comes, Allah takes fear out of the hearts of our followers and plants it in the hearts of our enemies. Each one of them becomes faster than lightening and braver than lions. He stabs his enemy with his spear and bashed him by his sword and steps on him with his foot. [15]

* Sharaf Al-Deen Al-Husseiny states in Ta'weel Al-Ayat Book: Reported from Suleiman bin Khalid from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he explain this saying of Allah {On the day the Quake shall quake * the second one shall follow it} and say: "{the Quake} is Al-Hussein Bin Ali (prayers of Allah be upon them both) and {the second one} is Ali Bin Abi Talib (Pbuh). The first one to remove the soil off his head (from his grave) is Al-Hussein Bin Ali (Pbuh) along with seventy thousand and this is in this saying of Allah Almighty:{We shall give victory to our messengers and those who believed, in the earthly life and on the day all witnesses rise * on the day when the excuse of the oppressors will not benefit them; the damnation is upon them and they have the awful dwelling.}" [19]

* Al-Sheikh Al-Kulaini states in Al-Kafi Book: Reported from Abdellah bin Al-Qasem Al-Batal from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he explained this saying of Allah { And We ordained for the Descendants of Israel in the Book: You shall do corruption on the earth twice,} and said: "It is the act of killing Ali Bin Abi Talib (Pbuh) and stabbing Al-Hassan (Pbuh); { and you shall become great tyrant,} by killing Al-Hussein (Pbuh); { So when the time of the promise for the first of the two comes,} it is when the victory of Al-Hussein's blood comes; {We will send over you Our servants, of mighty prowess, so they will go to and from among the houses,} they are people who will be sent by Allah before the Advent of Al-Qa'im (Pbuh). They will not leave anyone of the oppressors of the Household of Mohammad without killing him; {and it was a promise to be fulfilled,} it is the Advent of Al-Qa'im (Pbuh); {and then We gave you back the turn to prevail against them,} is the Return of Al-Hussein (Pbuh) along with seventy of his companions wearing golden helmets and each helmet has two faces. They will announce to people that this is Al-Hussein who has come so that the believers would not doubt him and think that he is a fraud or devil because Al-Hojja Al-Qa'im is amongst them. Hence, when the knowledge of believing that he is Al-Hussein (pbuh) settles in the hearts of believers, death will come to Al-Hojja and the one who will wash (ablution), dress him with the Kafan (death shroud), embalm him with fragrances and bury him in his grave shall be Al-Hussein Bin Ali (pbuh) and no one except a custodian prays over a custodian." [20]

* Al-Hassan bin Suleiman Al-Holli states in Moukhtasar Basa'er Al-Darajat Book: Reported from Jaber bin Yazeed from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: " Indeed, Ali shall have a return to this earth with Al-Hussein, his son, (Prayers be upon them both); he will arrive with his banner and shall take revenge for him from Omaya, Moawia and the household of Moawia and whoever witnessed his war and then Allah will send to them his advocators, thirty thousands from the people of Al-Kufa and from the rest of people seventy thousands. He will face them in Sofeen like the first time, kill them all and leave no one of them alive to speak of it. After that, Allah Almighty will send them to his severest torment with Firaon and the household of Firaon. The Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) will also have a return and he will be the successor on earth and the Imams (Pbut) will be his workers. Allah will be explicitly worshiped and this explicit worship of Allah on earth will be like how he was secretly worshiped on earth." And then he (Pbuh) said:" Indeed, by Allah! It will be many times more than that! Allah shall give His Prophet many times more than the dominion of the dwellers of this earthly world since the day Allah created this word until the day he obliterates it so that His promise to him in His Book would be fulfilled; as He said:{And He will make it prevail over all religions, even if the polytheists may detest that.}" [22]

He (Pbuh) said:" It is so, I swear to Allah, in The Return (of the Imams). Yet that will happen in The Return." [24]

* Al-Hassan bin Suleiman Al-Holli states in Moukhtasar Basa'er Al-Darajat Book: Reported from Himran bin Ayon that he heard Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) say: "The first one to have the land cleaved from above him and returns back to Donia is Al-Hussein Bin Ali (Pbuh). The Return is not general for every people, yet it is special. None returns but who are at the summit of faith and who are at the summit of polytheism." [25]

* Al-Sheikh Al-Moufeed states in Al-Irshad Book: Reported from Abdelkareem Al-Khatha'ami that he asked Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh): "For how long does Al-Qa'im (Pbuh) rule?" Imam: "For seven years, where the nights and days are prolonged till each year at his time will be like twenty years of yours. Thus he will rule for seventy years of yours. When his time comes, rain falls in the month of Jamadi The Second and in ten days of Rajab month like it never rained before. By this rain, Allah grows the flesh of the believers and their bodies in their graves. As if I see them coming from the side of Juheina City removing the soil from their hair." [26]

He: "Will there be chaos after his death?" Imam: "Yes, for forty years. Then Al-Muntasir (The Victorious) returns to Donia to revenge his blood and his companions' blood and thus he kills and captivates till people say: 'if he was from the descendents of prophets he wouldn’t have killed this much.' People gather against him, the white and black till they surround him with great numbers and force him to seek refuge with the sacred house of Allah. When the matters become harder for him and Al-Muntasir gets killed Al-Saffah (The Killer) returns back to Donia angry for Al-Muntasir and then kills every enemy of us. Do you know who are Al-Muntasir and Al-Saffah O Jaber? Al-Muntasir is Al-Hussein Bin Ali and Al-Saffah is Ali Bin Abi Talib (Pbut)." [27]

* Al-Hassan bin Suleiman Al-Holli states in Moukhtasar Basa'er Al-Darajat: Reported from Yunus bin Thabyan that Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) said: "Al-Hussein Bin Ali (Pbuh) is the one who shall judge people before Resurrection Day, as for Resurrection Day is a sending to Heaven or to Hell." [28]

He said:" Are there many Returns?" He said:" Yes, there are many returns. There isn't an Imam of an era who doesn't have a return along with the righteous and licentious people in his time so that Allah will let the believer prevail over the disbeliever.

When the day of the Appointed Time comes, Ameer Al-Mo'mineen (pbuh) will return with his companions and Iblees will return with his companions and they will meet in one of the lands of Al-Forat called Al-Rawha which is near Al-Kufa. They will fight a battle never fought before since Allah Almighty created the world. As if I see the companions of Ameer Elmo'mineen (Pbuh) walking backwards a hundred feet and some of their feet fell into Al-Forat. At this moment The All-Mighty descends {Shaded by veils of clouds and angels} and the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) finished this matter carrying a spear of Light. When Iblees sees this, he runs backwards. His companions tell him: 'Where are you going? You are winning.' He says: '{I see what you don’t see} {I fear Allah the Lord of all Realms}'. Then the prophet (Pbuhp) follows him and stabs him between his shoulders. This will be his doom and the doom of all his followers. Only then Allah is worshiped without a partner and Ameer Elmo'mineen (Pbuh) rules for forty four thousand years where every followers of Ali begets a thousand sons. A son in every year. At that time, the two joined heavens appear by Al-Kufa Mosque and around it showing what Allah wills." [29]

He who advocates them will be like the advocate of Moussa against Firaon and he who advocates their enemy will be like the advocate of Firaon against Moussa." [30]

* Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Qummi in his Tafseer Book: Reported from Hamad from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: "what do people say about this verse {And on the day when We will gather from every nation a party}?" He said:"they say that it's the Resurrection Day."He said:"It's not as they say, this is in The Return; Will Allah gather in the Resurrection from each nation a party and leave the rest! As for the resurrection Day, this saying of Allah that concerns it is:{and We shall gather them, all together, nor shall We leave out any one of them.} and His saying:{And it is binding on a village which We destroy that they shall not return.} then Imam Sadiq (Pbuh) also said:"every village that Allah punished and destroyed its people with torment and all those complete disbelievers will not return in The Return yet in the Resurrection they will return, but the others who weren't tormented by Allah, either if they are complete believers or disbelievers, they shall return." [31]

* Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Qummi states in his Tafseer Book: Reported from Moawia bin Ammar that he asked Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) about this saying of Allah {a hard miserable life he shall live}. Imam: "by Allah, this verse talks about the Nasebies." He said: "May I be sacrificed for your sake, we have seen them live the longest lives in prosperity till they die!" Imam: "by Allah, this is in the Return, they will eat wastes"[32]

* Al-Sheikh Al-Sadouq states in Al-Amali Book: Reported from Mohammad bin Marwan from Imam Abou Abdellah Al-Sadiq (Pbuh) from his forefathers (Pbut) that the Messenger of Allah (Pbuhp) said: "Allah resurrects him as a Hebrew, he who detests us Ahlul-Bayt." One asked: "O Messenger of Allah, even if he recited the two testimonies." He (Pbuhp) said: "He protected his blood and escaped the tax by these two testimonies accepting to be a servile."[33] Then he (Pbuhp) said: "Allah sends him back as a Hebrew he who detests us Ahlul-Bayt." One asked: "how is that O messenger of Allah?" He (Pbuhp) said: "If he was at the time of Al-Dajjal, he will believe in him." [34]

* Mahmoud bin Masoud Al-Ayashi states in his Tafseer Book: Reported from Ibn Bakeer that he said that he asked Imam Abou Al-Hassan (Pbuh) about this saying of Allah {to Him yielded who are in the skies and land; by freewill and by compulsion}. Imam (Pbuh) said: "This verse talks about Al-Qa'im (Pbuh) when he rises against the Hebrews, Christians, Sa'ibeen, Zindeeqs, and infidels in the east of earth and its west. He gives them the chance to adopt Islam so who becomes a Muslim, Imam orders him to pray and give Zakat and all the other obligations of Islam. Yet he will kill everyone who doesn’t adopt Islam till everyone in the Easts and Wests becomes a monotheist." He said: "May I be sacrificed for your sake, the creatures are greater than this?" Imam: " When Allah wills, he increases the few and decreases the plenty." [35]

* Mohammad bin Ibrahim Al-No'mani states in Al-Ghayba Book: Reported from Abou Hamza Al-Thamaly that he said that he was with Imam Abou Jaa'far Mohammad Bin Ali Al-Baqir (Pbuh). When people left, Imam told him: "O Abou Hamza, one of the inevitable matters that will never change is the rise of our Qa'im. He who doubts this saying of mine shall meet Allah being an infidel and a disbeliever." Then Imam said: "May my father and mother be sacrificed for the sake of he who has my name and my surname and the seventh after me. May my father be sacrificed for the sake of he who will fill the earth with justice and fairness as it is filled with injustice and oppression." Then Imam said: "O Abou Hamza, he who is at his time and doesn’t yield to him then he didn’t yield to Mohammad and Ali (Pbut). Allah forbids him to enter heaven and his dwelling is Hell. Worst is the eternal dwelling of the wrong-doers." [36]

* Mohammad bin Jareer Al-Tabari states Dala'il Al-Imama Book: Reported from Al-Moufaddal bin Amr from Imam Abou Abdellah (Pbuh) that he said: "At the time of Al-Qa'im (Pbuh) the believers bring the birds down from the sky, slaughter it, grill it, and doesn’t break his bones. Then the Believer tells it: 'come back to life by permission of Allah.' thus the bird is revived and flies. The dears of deserts as well. The light of countries is from his light. They need neither sun nor moon. There will neither be harm, nor evil, nor sin, nor corruption at all because the Message is heavenly and not earthly. There will neither be demons nor luring, nor magic, nor envy, nor any corruption; Land and trees never grow thorns; Plants and fruits are always fresh one you pick one another one grows directly as it was. A man would dress his son and so his clothes grow with him as he grows tall and he would change it to the color he pleases. If an infidel entered a lizard's hole or hid behind a pile of dry clay, or a stone or a tree, Allah would make it speak and say: 'O believer, there is an infidel behind me. Take him.'
